The 12th Annual Burnt Gin Hare Scramble took place on January 23rd in Wedgefield SC. This race has become part of the warm-up regimen for alot of riders shaking off the winter blah. I was also excited to get back out at the races and take it all in.
The main race was started to the blast of a cannon with Russell Bobbitt jumping out front and staying there almost all day and taking the win. Thad Duvall worked his way back up quickly from a dead last start to battling with Bobbitt for a 2nd overall finish. Steward Baylor was right behind them, finishing in 3rd. If the rest of the race season is anything like this one, it’s going to be awesome.
I got to talk to some friends I haven’t seen in a while and recognized alot more out on the course. The weather warmed up which was a relief from the temp of 18 when I arrived. I had some good photos and some that were a bit disappointing but it sure was fun to be back to it. All photos from this event are uploaded now & are viewable HERE .
