This was the first time this season I attended a VCHSS race. The Loretta Lynn GNCC getting postponed presented a chance to go watch some friends race. This doesn’t happen too often because of the overlapping schedules of so many of the series in the area. The postponement also meant there were quite a few GNCC pros looking for a race to attend. Earlier in the week it looked as though the NCHSA race would have a stacked pro line, but then the VCHSS upped the ante ( the payouts) and the starting line showed that it was quite effective with the payouts topping over $2250.00! Bakken held off Duvall for the OA with Whibley, Hollis, and Fahringer rounding out the top 5.
It was a great time for me on a few levels. I had just finished up a shoot the day before I was pretty excited about, I was getting to see my buddies and cheer for them, seeing my buds Rob Mitchell and Jared Bolton, and a stacked pro row with an nice course ensured plenty of racing to enjoy. I didn’t take as many photos as I normally try to or move around the course as often but I hope to have captured some images you will enjoy. Parking was tight, but they handled the flow rather well and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was cool watching all the kids getting autographs on the starting line.
I had a great time and really enjoyed myself. All my photos are uploaded and are viewable HERE.
